Privacy Policy

Effective August 4, 2026 · Last updated September 18, 2026

olea is built so that using it does not require handing much over. This page explains, plainly, what leaves your device, what stays on it, and every service involved.

The short version

  • olea does not require an account or sign-up.
  • Your habits, schedules, notes, and streak history are stored on your device, not on a server we run.
  • olea uses privacy-minded product analytics and crash reporting to see which features get used and to fix bugs, never your habit names or anything you type.
  • olea does not show the App Tracking Transparency prompt and does not use IDFA-based advertising or cross-app tracking. It does not sell your data or build advertising profiles.
  • olea does not collect your location, contacts, photos, or health data.
  • The rest of this page names every service that sees any data at all, and what each one gets.

Your habit data

Everything you create in olea (habit names, schedules, completion history, notes, and streaks) is stored locally on your device, in storage shared between the app and its Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets. We have no access to it and no copy of it. If you use iCloud device backups, this local data may be included the same way any other app's data is; that backup is governed by Apple's iCloud terms, not by us.

Analytics and crash reporting

olea uses two third-party services to understand how the app is used and to catch bugs. Neither receives your habit names, notes, or anything else you type.

  • Product analytics (PostHog): records app usage such as which screens you open, which onboarding steps you complete, when a habit is created, logged, or deleted, and whether a paywall was shown or dismissed, tied to an anonymous device identifier, not your name or email. This can include a limited, on-screen interaction replay of taps and navigation, used only to see how the interface is used; it does not capture the free text you type into habit names or notes.
  • Crash reporting (Sentry): if the app crashes or hits an error, technical diagnostic information (device model, OS version, and the code path that failed) is sent automatically so we can fix it.

Website analytics

With your permission, the Olea Studio website uses PostHog to measure page views, traffic source, and a small set of calls to action, such as an App Store or support link. Website tracking is off until you select “Allow analytics” in the consent prompt.

We do not use website session replay, broad click recording, advertising profiles, or form tracking. Website analytics events use a website-specific name so they can be distinguished from olea app activity in our PostHog workspace. You can change your choice at any time.

App Store search attribution

If you installed olea after tapping an Apple Search Ads result, Apple's own AdServices framework is used once, on-device, to attribute that install to the ad campaign. This does not use IDFA and does not require the App Tracking Transparency permission. olea never shows that prompt because it has nothing that needs it.

Purchases and subscriptions

If you buy a subscription or in-app purchase in olea, the transaction is processed by Apple through StoreKit, and purchase state is managed by Superwall, the subscription infrastructure provider we use to display paywalls and validate purchases. These providers receive the transaction and device information needed to process and validate a purchase, such as your App Store transaction identifier and product identifier. We do not receive your payment details; Apple handles billing directly.

Notifications, Siri, and search

Reminder notifications are scheduled locally on your device; nothing about your reminders is sent anywhere. If you use Siri, Shortcuts, or Spotlight to log or check a habit, that request is handled entirely by Apple's on-device systems. olea only indexes generic app metadata for system search, never per-habit content.

What we do not do

We do not sell your data. We do not build advertising profiles, and we do not use IDFA-based ad tracking of any kind. We do not access your location, camera, photo library, contacts, or health data; olea never asks for any of those permissions because it never needs them.

Children's privacy

olea is not directed at children under 13. The analytics and crash data described above are tied to an anonymous device identifier, not to a name, email, or account of any kind.

Your data, your device

Because your habit data lives on your device, you control it directly: deleting the app deletes your data with it. Deleting the app also resets the anonymous identifiers used by analytics and crash reporting, so a reinstall starts fresh.

Changes to this policy

If how olea handles data changes, meaningfully, this page will be updated and the "Last updated" date above will change. We recommend checking back if you have concerns.
